The world needs a better way to
make decisions together.

In May 2014 I joined the Loomio team!  What is Loomio, you’re wondering?

Loomio is an online platform for collaborative decision making. Founded by social enterprepreneurs in New Zealand, it is flying across the globe — 90 countries to date — and helping social change activists, businesses and governments make better decisions, faster.

We’re on the verge of launching Loomio 1.0 to be even more accessible and user-friendly.

MJ’s Pivots

So honored to be nominated by Governor Raimondo to the Board of CommerceRI!

2013 was a piotal year for me as the  Ian Axford Fellow, Fulbright New Zealand and remarkably rewarding that many of the recommendations in my report were adopted by the New Zealand Government.  Even as the field grows, it’s important to continue to raise visibility about social enterprise and share success stories, opportunities and collective learning and scaled impact. I joined the Social Enterprise Greenhouse Board to be more active in Rhode Island to stimulate the field and add value to the economy as well as social innovation.  We recently opened the Social Enterprise Greenhouse Hub at 10 Davol Square in Providence to be a nexus for this dynamic community and Loomio has new offices in the Hub!  Come visit.

I’m teaching Leading Social Ventures at Brown University – an action learning class that received the Ashoka U Cordes Innovation Award.  I’m learning “heaps” from my students!

Spring is finally emerging and fittingly, the SEEED conference is April 24 and 25th at Brown . Join me and hundreds of innovators.

Join Loomio Founder, Ben Knight, April 27th at 5:30 at our new office, 10 Davol Square, Social Enterprise Greenhouse Hub.
